TCROSS CEO Satoru Hashimoto to Speak at the 101st Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Medical Instrumentation

TCROSS Co., Ltd. announced that its CEO, Satoru Hashimoto, will speak at the 101st Annual Meeting of the Japanese Society of Medical Instrumentation, which will be held at Makuhari Messe from June 4 to June 6, 2026.

The presentation will take place during the session scheduled from 3:30 PM to 5:00 PM on Friday, June 5, 2026, under the title “Rethinking Medical Device Science as Research”.

In this lecture, Hashimoto will discuss how practical sales and marketing challenges encountered in the pharmaceutical and medical device industries can be transformed into research themes and ultimately converted into product and service value, integrating perspectives from business practice, academic research, and management.

The session will focus on the following four themes and raise questions regarding the structural challenges surrounding medical innovation in Japan:
  1. The process of transforming frontline challenges into product and service value
  2. The relationship between standardization/manualization and innovation
  3. Designing motivation systems that encourage healthcare professionals to participate in research, publication, and development
  4. Reconsidering “For whom does research ethics exist?” from the perspective of healthcare management

The lecture will also address how the increasing reliance on guidelines and operational standardization in healthcare, while contributing to medical safety, may simultaneously create bureaucratic organizational structures and excessive rationalism that can hinder frontline-driven innovation.

Furthermore, Hashimoto will argue that research should not merely aim at publication itself, but rather serve as a means of identifying gaps between real-world clinical practice and existing guidelines, ultimately leading to innovation capable of generating social and economic value.

The presentation will also introduce InsighTCROSS, a sales and marketing decision-support platform developed under Hashimoto’s leadership, demonstrating how data science can visualise practical healthcare challenges and translate them into real-world implementation.

Hashimoto has spent many years working in medical device and pharmaceutical marketing, particularly in the cardiovascular field. As CEO of TCROSS, he currently leads businesses in healthcare data science, academic research support, medical media, and event operations. In recent years, he has published multiple peer-reviewed international papers related to medical innovation and data science while also pursuing patent acquisitions and international patent applications.
